Custom Dresses, a Flags Business Winding Down, and a Run of Cracked Screens

New client energy today came from someone building an evening-wear line, sending over a stack of dress references from a Chinese wholesale platform and asking us to price them out and check real photos before committing to anything. This is one of my favorite kinds of new-client conversation — no product yet, just a direction and a willingness to test a handful of options before picking a lane. We'll spend the next week or two getting her actual sample photos instead of stock images, because "looks great in the listing" and "looks great in person" are two very different things with fabric-heavy items.

On the other end of the spectrum, a longer-running client is winding down a novelty flag product after pausing ads on it — no drama there, just a seller being sensible about what's actually working versus what used to work. We're helping figure out what to do with the leftover stock rather than just letting it sit.

The tougher stretch of the day was with an electronics accessory line that had a genuine cluster of quality complaints hit all at once — a warped case here, an SD card slot that stopped locking there, a screen that wouldn't stop showing a rainbow glitch on one unit. None of it was catastrophic individually, but strung together in one day it made for a lot of "let's see the photos" and "here's the reshipment number" back and forth. We pushed for tighter outgoing inspection on that line going forward, because a cluster like that usually means something upstream is worth double-checking rather than just fixing symptom by symptom.

Some days are sourcing and sampling. Today was more troubleshooting. Both are the job.
