What YunExpress Actually Is in Your Dropshipping Chain

We get asked this a lot: "what is YunExpress, and are you guys the same company?" No, we're not. YunExpress is a cross-border logistics network, one of several carriers we can book a shipment through. It's worth understanding what it does and doesn't do, because a lot of the confusion dropshippers run into comes from assuming a carrier handles things it never touches.

What YunExpress actually does

YunExpress moves parcels from China to the rest of the world. That's it, that's the job. In a typical order, the chain looks like this: the product gets sourced or pulled from stock, a fulfilment warehouse (us, in our case) checks the item and packs it, YunExpress collects the parcel in China, export processing and international transit happen, the parcel clears destination customs, a local postal service or courier does the last mile, and tracking and any problems get handled across whoever's involved, the merchant, the fulfilment provider, the carrier, and the local delivery partner.

Notice how many of those steps have nothing to do with YunExpress directly. Sourcing and packing are entirely on us. The last mile is a completely different company in most cases. YunExpress is the middle of the chain, not the whole thing.

What YunExpress doesn't do

It doesn't source your product. It doesn't inspect it. It doesn't combine items from different suppliers into one parcel. It doesn't talk to your customer. It doesn't handle your branding or packaging inserts. Those are fulfilment tasks, and they sit with us, not the carrier.

This matters because when something goes wrong, "just check with YunExpress" is not a real answer for your customer. They didn't order from YunExpress. They ordered from your store. We're the ones who sourced it, packed it, picked the route, and we're the ones who own fixing it if something breaks along the way.

Why this distinction matters for you

If you're comparing fulfilment options, the pitch shouldn't be "we use YunExpress." Plenty of operators use YunExpress. The actual question is who's doing the sourcing, quality control, packing, route selection, and problem-solving around it. That's the part that determines whether your orders actually show up in good shape and on time.

Our answer: we handle the product and the order end to end. YunExpress, or another carrier, gets selected as one of the delivery networks when it's the right fit for that specific product and destination. It's a tool we use, not the service you're buying.

A quick note on scale

YunExpress advertises serving 220+ countries and regions, dozens of self-operated branches, and processing over a million parcels a day, according to their own published figures as of mid-2026. Those numbers are useful context for how established the network is, but they're company-reported and don't tell you anything about how a specific product to a specific country is going to perform. We care a lot more about the actual route and how it's been running recently than the headline stats.
