The Week Finally Exhales

After a fairly relentless stretch, today felt like the tail end of a long exhale. The camera client from earlier this week confirmed they're happy moving forward with the newer product version the factory mixed into recent shipments — glad that one landed cleanly instead of turning into a bigger dispute.

The phone case brand we've been slowly building out a custom line for finally locked down their design after weeks of back-and-forth on materials, finishes, and case styles. They settled on two variants, both in a glossy finish, one with a snap-on shell and one built for wireless charging compatibility. There's something satisfying about watching a brand go from "here's a rough idea and a competitor's website for reference" to an actual locked spec sheet ready for production. That's the fun part of the private-label side of this business — you get to watch something come into existence.

Otherwise it was a lighter day, which honestly we needed. A few EU tax questions still trickling in as clients get their heads around what changes on July 1st — we'll be having versions of that conversation for a while yet, I suspect, until it's just normal and nobody asks about it anymore.

Looking back at the whole week — a zipper negotiation, a client deregistering from IOSS, ten thousand pairs of glasses, a supplier mixing up two product models, and more explanations of the new EU tax than I can count — it's a decent snapshot of what actually running this business day to day looks like. Never quite what you expect when you open the laptop in the morning.
