Two Centimeters, a Zipper, and a Client Who Panicked Over Nothing

Some days the fun part of this job is genuinely how small the details get. We have a private-label client working on a loungewear piece, and today's entire negotiation was about whether the legs should be 1 or 2 centimeters longer, and whether a side zipper we're adding for easier wear would be visible from the outside. I love these conversations honestly — it's someone building an actual product, worrying about the same things a real fashion brand worries about, just at a much smaller and much faster scale. We settled on 2cm. Not noticeable. Everyone happy.

On the other end of the spectrum, we had a new dropshipper reach out wanting to get orders moving right away. Standard stuff, until we mentioned the new EU import tax reform that's about to hit — and he immediately panicked, saying he doesn't even sell into the EU. Which, fair, in that case it genuinely doesn't apply to him at all. Took two messages to clear up, but I could feel the relief through the screen. A good reminder that when you're rolling out a policy change to hundreds of clients, half your job that week is just reassuring people it doesn't apply to them.

A phone case brand we've been working with for a few weeks sent over the finalized artwork and we're moving toward production. And a brand-new client jumped on a call just to understand how branding options work early on — logo stickers, thank-you cards, that kind of thing, before graduating to full custom packaging later.

Also worth noting: a chunk of our supplier factories are still closed for a national holiday, so a few quotes are running a day behind. Everyone's very understanding about it except the people who don't know it's a holiday yet.
